Carlene Cross lives in Seattle, Washington where she has worked as a college counselor and a producer for public television. She holds a degree in religious studies from Big Sky Bible College, as well as a BA in history and an MA in communications history from the University of Washington.

Carlene is the author of, The Undying West, a work of historical nonfiction about her native Montana (Fulcrum Publishing, 1999)

In October 2006, Algonquin Books will release, Fleeing Fundamentalism: A Minister’s Wife Examines Faith. In it, Carlene looks back at her life and marriage to a charismatic young man who appeared destined for greatness as a minister within the Fundamentalist church. Alongside the personal story, she examines the history and tactics of today’s Religious Right. But in the end, she sets out to make peace with her past in a story of escape, survival and forgiveness.
